Is located in the town of Veglie to the far south of Apulia (Puglia). Where the terrain consists of a flat peninsula, the climate is quite hot yet mediated by breezes that blow in from the Adriatic and Ionian seas. The traditional wines of this area are the powerful inky reds made from Primitivo, Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera but Apulia boast the largest array of varietals in the south.AVD was founded in 1999 by recognizing the untapped potential for fine winemaking in the region and began skillfully utilizing its resources. This young energetic New World company with traditional Old World methods and techniques began utilizing the grapes grown in Puglia to produce premium, quality wine for both national and international markets. The grapevines are positioned to maximize the daylong saturation of sunlight for juicer and plumper nectars.
